Denver Auto Show 2014 Review

The 2014 Denver Auto Show is under way. The show opened last night to the public and runs through the weekend. The show started-off with the charity preview party on Tuesday night. Without knowing the total number of people in attendance, we can say it was a very large crowd. The attendance has gone up consistently over the past few years. There was a fashion show, great food and drinks, and the Rocky Mountain Automotive Press presented the Rocky Mountain Car, Truck, and SUV of the Year. The car of the year is the 2014 Lexus IS250/350. The truck of the year is the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. The SUV of the year is the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. Also, John Elway was on-hand as an honorary chair of the event.

The show opened to the public last night. The selection of cars and number of manufacturers is impressive. Some of the newest vehicles include the 2015 Ford Mustang, the 2015 Chevy Silverado High Country, the 2015 VW GTI, the Nissan GT-R NISMO edition, and the latest from many other brands. Some foreign highlights are the new Jaguar F-Type Coupe, the Lamborghini Aventador, several examples from Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Lotus, Aston Martin, Bentley, Subaru, Audi, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda, Nissan, Volkswagen, Land Rover, and Fiat. Although the foreign vehicles seemed to outnumber the Americans, there are some great examples from Chevy, GMC, Cadillac, Buick, Ford, Lincoln, Dodge, Chrysler, RAM, Tesla, and even the MV-1.

Overall, this was a great show and we are looking forward to next year.

Cars & Coffee April 5th 2014 Review

Another great day at Cars & Coffee. Probably well over 200 cars again. Nice weather had several people bring some nice cars out to play! It was great to see a bunch of the regulars mixed in with a healthy dose of newcomers.

The biggest topic of the day from nearly everyone we talked to was the serious lack of space at this venue. We watched many many cars circle around for a long time to try and find a parking spot. With the school next door having soccer games, parking was at a premium. WE NEED TO FIND A BIGGER LOCATION FOR THIS EVENT!

The selection of cars was amazing! Porches galore, at least 8 Ferraris, several Corvettes (3 C7 Stingrays), Lots of Subaru, Mitsubishi, Audi, Mercedes, classics, muscle, vintage, and even two DeLoreans made the show. Plus we saw the guys from Audizine, TFLCar.com, Purifoy Chevrolet, Boulder Nissan, Morgan Cars, Oxotic Drive, and more, out and about having a great time.

Looking forward to the May 3rd event! Hopefully the discussion about a move will happen by then.

4th of July Car Show at Westminster Fireworks Show

The City of Westminster has teamed-up with the Rocky Mountain Car Club to put on a car show at the 4th of July Fireworks Show at the Westminster City Park / Rec Center. The show will be held on the grass field right next to all the fun activities. The city does a great job organizing the event. There will be a concert, food trucks, and fun activities for the whole family. Come out and watch the fireworks! This show averages over 10,000 people at the park waiting for the show to start!

We expect to have 40-50 cars at the event along with some great local companies to display their goods and services. The preliminary schedule of events is: 4pm-5pm: the cars park in the designated area. 5pm: all cars must be in place. 5pm-9:15pm: car show, concert, and family activities. 9:15pm-9:35pm: Fireworks show. 10pm: leave (need to stay in place until majority of crowd leaves).

This is the first time the City has allowed cars on the grass at this event. We will have registration available by April 30th as the limited number of spots will fill up fast!

We are also going to allow approx. 10 local businesses to have a display booth at this event. Again, space very limited!
